Do I need to apply to become a volunteer?

No, you do not need to apply. Simply check out our volunteer opportunities and sign up on the online calendar. We thank you in advance for your willingness to volunteer, serve. 

 

Where are you located?

We have one location in Baton Rouge, 1747 Main Street Baton Rouge, LA..

Is there parking provided?

Yes! Parking is available. To ensure sufficient parking, we do recommend you carpool when possible.

 

Can I volunteer if I feel ill?

No, we ask you do not volunteer if you are feeling ill, or have been ill within the last 24 hours. Our goal is to promote the health, safety of all. 

 

Can you accommodate a volunteer who can’t stand for the duration of the shift?

Yes, we are happy to provide stools, chairs for volunteers who need to sit or take frequent breaks. Please notify a member upon arrival regarding these needs.

 

Why do you need my email, physical address when I check-in for a volunteer shift?

a) For overall safety, it is important we have information about who is in our facility, particularly in emergency situations. 
b) Your email, physical, mailing address will allow us to keep you apprised of how volunteers like you, and others, are contributing to our work. 
c) Confirmation of address also helps us indicate you’ve agreed to our volunteer liability waiver.

 

Group Volunteers

Do I need to submit group members' names?  Yes.

Do you accept matching grants from my company for volunteer work?

Yes! Remind your volunteers to take advantage of matching-grants or gifts the organization offers.
