OUR HISTORY

 

On February 16, 1980, Nu Gamma Omega, Inc., a chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was chartered with 36 enthusiastic members as the second alumnae chapter serving the Baton Rouge metropolitan area. On October 30, 1985, this 45th graduate chapter of the South Central Region was incorporated as a nonprofit organization. Less than five years later, on January 8, 1990, the Nu Gamma Omega Educational and Charitable Foundation, Inc. received approval as a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization.
